The first way to migrate WordPress


Step 1: Install and setup the Duplicator plugin on your Localhost WordPress
Step 2: Create the transport package in the plugin
Step 3: Transfer the Installer.php file and archive (zip) via an FTP client such as FileZilla
Step 4: Run the installer setup on the live server

First, you need to install and activate the Duplicator plugin on your local WordPress site (for example, on laragon ). So, go to Add New Extension and type Duplicator in the search and click on Install Now and activate it.

Step Two: Create the Transfer Package


You will see the Duplicator menu on the left panel of the WordPress dashboard. Click on Duplicator > Packages > Create New

Now you can download the two files by clicking One-Click Download once it’s completed

Step 3: Transfer the Installer.php file and archive (zip)


Now you need to transfer the Installer.php file and archive (zip) to Cloudways Live server via FTP Client FileZilla

Method 2: Move your WordPress site from localhost to hosting


In this method I will explain, how you can manually migrate your WordPress site from localhost to live/hosting site.

Step 1: Export a database from the local server


You need to go to PhpMyadmin in your Localhost and click Export

Step 2: Delete the database tables from your hosting


Now go to your host where you have already installed the WordPress site, and delete the database tables

Step 3: Import the WordPress database from the local server to the new hosting


The next step in the process is to import your database that you exported to the host database you deleted. For this, you need to click on Import > Choose Files , then select the SQL file from your folder and click on the Open button, and click on Execute.

Step 4: Change Website URL, Home Page and Blog Name:


Now you need to change the site URL, home page and blog name of the live server.

Find the wp_options table in your database. Now, click on wp_options, and click on select data.
